The Differences

The difference between two people going to the so called better place is that how much money they leave.
How will your grave look when you pass on? Some fortunate people have enough money to buy a whole lot for themselves and keep their grave in top shape. On the other hand some are not so fortune and soon their grave become only a part of the ground.

We visited Glennwood, Glennwood has
many space for the gone. The graves are
keeped in top shape and are well
preserved. Some even go back to 1998
when I was born. All of this is possible by the power of money.

Some of the richest people can afford a place like this. As you can see to the rigth the mausoleum is where all the family of one is kept.

This poor cemetery was only used for African Americans back in the day.
Now it is an abandon lot. The graves are out of the ground
and weed and branches every where.
This shows that there is no care for the graveyard.

On the Buildings

On this adventure we went down into the East side of Houston. Our main focus was to see the murals that people before my generation created. The picture to the right are 3 murals know as "Paz a las Americas", "No Olvide Tus Raices" , and "Regalo De La Madre Tierra". These 3 murals are incredible, they are master pieces, they are all made with creativity.

This abandoned building to the right is one that some one creative designed in different shapes but once all together they make up a big picture.

This old mural above has bin there for a while now. If we people don't know how to conseve our murals they will end up like this. This mural is know for the name of  "Rebirth of Our Nationality" created byLeo Tanguma.

This one painting on the right is one of  kind. Its pictures that make up the whole thing are events and things around Houston. It kind makes you remeber who we are and where we have came from.

Eye Catchers

On our second trip, we entered the Heart of Houston. We found many road stoppers. Of course they were public art. A lot of people don't appreciate the public art.
I think that with out this public phenomenons the street would so life less and dull.

This Mickey Mouse like art is referred by the name Geometric Mouse X. This fine sculpture was made by Claus Oldenburg.

On are travel into Houston, We meet some friendly faces. These two tall sculptures were designed by Tony Cragg and called by In Minds. They make you feel like if you are being watched but don't worry there just a giant piece of art.

These steel like towers are made of up kids art works of Houston, their are not only two but seven of them. They are known as the Seven Wonders, created by Mel Chin. Every square is exactly drawn to the children's drawings.

Our First Trip

I When we first took our steps into Houston, we studied another religions . We decided to visit the Hindu Temple. It was a great journey for them to show of there religion. They set up a ceremony for us. Being there was so quite and peaceful.
As you can see, the gold pillars at the top represent the mountains that  people would go to worship God. The red and white flags on top represent two things the white for purity and the red for their devotion to God.
